How to Select Standardized Pumps

1. What is a standardized pump?

Standardized pumps are the latest type of pumps formulated and implemented by the state according to the requirements of ISO. Its main characteristics are small size, light weight, excellent performance, easy operation, long life, low energy consumption and so on. It represents the latest trend in the current pump industry.

2. How to Select Pumps

When the user chooses the pump, it is better to go to the point of sale approved by the agricultural machinery department, and to recognize the manufacturer clearly. It is suggested that priority should be given to purchasing submersible pumps with water filling, and that the brands and quality certificates of the pumps should be clearly identified. Never buy "three nothingness" (that is, no manufacturer, no production date, no production license) pumps, otherwise there will be problems, users will be helpless.

During the non-use period, the water pump should be lifted out of the water source in time, and the accumulated water in the pump should be emptied side by side, especially in cold winter. Then put it in a dry place, conditional users can also coat the key parts of the pump with butter, and add lubricant to the bearing to prevent parts from rusting. In addition, the non-service life of the pump is not the longer the better. If it is not used for a long time, it will not only easily rust parts, but also reduce the service life of the pump.

2. Choosing the appropriate pump head

1. Selection of pump head

The so-called lift refers to the required lift, not the lifting height, which is particularly important for the selection of pumps. The pump head is about 1.15-1.20 times the lifting height. If a water source reaches a vertical height of 20 meters, its required lift is about 23-24 meters. When choosing a pump, the head on the nameplate of the pump should be close to the required head. In this case, the efficiency of the pump is the highest and the use of the pump will be more economical. But it is not necessary to require absolute equality, the general deviation as long as not more than 20%, pumps can work in a more energy-saving situation.

2. How much is the nameplate lift?

When high-lift pumps are used in low-lift pumps, excessive flow will occur, which will lead to motor overload. If the motor runs for a long time, the temperature of the motor rises, and the winding insulation layer will gradually aging, even burning down the motor.

3. Selection of suitable flow pumps

The flow rate of the pump, i.e. the water output, should not be too large in general, otherwise, it will increase the cost of purchasing the pump. Specific problems should be analyzed, such as the user's own suction pump, the flow should be selected as small as possible; for example, the user's irrigation submersible pump, you can choose the appropriate flow larger.

IV. Several Issues Needing Attention in Use

Correctly grasping the operation method is an important factor for prolonging the pump life and reducing economic losses.

1. For submersible pumps

Before starting, some necessary checks should be done: whether the rotation of the pump shaft is normal, whether there is stuck or not; whether the position of impeller is normal; whether the cable and cable plug are broken, scratched or broken, etc. In operation, attention should be paid to observing the change of voltage, which is generally controlled within the range of (+5%) of rated voltage. In addition, the position of the pump in the water is very important. It should be selected as far as possible where there is plenty of water, no silt, and good water quality. It should be suspended vertically in the water, and not allowed to be placed horizontally, so as to avoid falling into the mud or being blocked by suspended substances, leading to a sharp reduction in the output of water or even not pumping.

2. For Self-priming pumps

As far as possible, it should be placed in a well-ventilated place to run in order to facilitate rapid heat dissipation and reduce the temperature of the motor. Otherwise, it is easy to burn the motor if it runs for a long time. For example, when a farmer uses a self-priming pump, the coil is burnt because the plastic film covering the motor is not removed. In addition, before starting, it is necessary to check the water storage in the pump body, otherwise, it will not only affect the self-priming performance, but also easy to burn the shaft seal components. Under normal conditions, the water should be discharged 3 to 5 minutes after the start of the pump, otherwise the machine should be stopped immediately for inspection.

3. Pump Maintenance

When the pump breaks down, don't disassemble it by yourself. Because when they disassemble, first, they don't know where the fault is and cause blindly disassembly; second, they often damage the original intact parts without special tools. The best way is to have experienced and large-scale maintenance points, and timely replacement of "over-age" parts and some vulnerable parts. Normally, the pump should be repaired every six months to eliminate the work with "disease".

4. Non-life storage

In recent years, the social ownership of agricultural water pumps in China has increased substantially, especially small-scale agricultural water pumps, such as submersible pumps and self-priming pumps, which are favored by users because of their low price and easy operation. However, due to the large number of manufacturers of small pumps and the uneven technical strength of pumps, the quality of pumps varies greatly. Coupled with the operation, improper use and other factors, so that a large number of users have created new worries, and even a lot of economic losses. According to statistics, at present, half of the annual production of agricultural water pumps in China is used to replace the reported wastewater pumps. Therefore, how to choose a durable, satisfactory pump and how to prolong the life of the pump has become a major concern of users.
